Guess what day it is? Valentine’s Day is now one week away. Hopefully you have given a little thought to this year’s gift. I refer back to an article in Forbes Magazine I read. Their research shows men and women have decidedly different preferences when it comes to romantic gift giving. Guys, are you paying attention? Forbes says we should avoid cognitive biases. In other words, we should avoid buying gifts we would stereotypically buy. Forbes suggests that we guys find women (who think out of the box when buying gifts for us) irresistible. Ladies, they suggested buying guys tools, which kind of sounds stereotypical but technically they do come out of a box. Guys, Forbes says women appreciate gifts that require thought and effort and although women still enjoy tennis bracelets, gifts that reflect ethical behavior are sexier. This may sound a little dry but ladies, if he makes a donation to an animal shelter in your name for Valentine’s Day, thank Forbes Magazine for helping you feel closer to him than ever before, this year! You are welcome!
