Lincoln County volunteer firefighters braved sub-freezing temperatures to battle a house fire overnight. About 11 o’clock Monday night firefighters were called to 50 Blanch Road to a house fire. Flames were shooting through the roof of the home when they arrived. The home suffered extensive damage and the family is without a home but no injuries were reported. Lincoln County Fire Chief Doug Campbell said crews were on the scene until about 3:15 this morning. The fire is thought to have started in the attic around the chimney. Campbell said he would like to thank the volunteers who brave sub-freezing temperatures and all kinds of weather and calls. He added that most of the ones who responded to this fire would have to go home and get ready to go to work with little or no sleep.
